Tablecash Privacy Policy

1. Your Privacy Policy's Account Deletion section needs improvement

Users may request deletion of their Tablecash account through the account deletion option available in the app or through our account deletion webpage.

"If a customer has received the chit amount, they cannot delete their account."

Is risky as written:

Google allows certain data to be retained for legitimate reasons such as regulatory compliance, fraud prevention, or legal obligations, but the policy should explain what data is retained and why. Simply saying the user cannot delete the account may be interpreted as blocking account deletion.

For a chit/financial service, I'd recommend wording it more like:

Account Deletion and Data Retention

Users may request deletion of their Tablecash account through the account deletion option available in the app or through our account deletion webpage.

If a user has an active chit, outstanding installments, financial obligations, or other pending contractual or regulatory obligations, certain financial, transaction, and account records may need to be retained for legal, regulatory, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Important:

In such cases, we will delete or anonymize personal data that is not required to be retained, while retaining only the information necessary to comply with applicable legal, regulatory, contractual, or financial record-keeping requirements.

Once the applicable obligations have been completed, the user may submit a deletion request and the remaining eligible personal data will be deleted in accordance with our data retention requirements.

This is much safer than saying "cannot delete their account."

Your policy currently says: You have the right to request deletion of your data.

Processing Time
The deletion request will be reviewed and processed within 3–7 working days, subject to applicable legal, regulatory, financial, and contractual retention requirements.

3. What Happens After a Deletion Request?

Once we receive a deletion request, we will review the account and determine whether any information must be retained due to legal, regulatory, contractual, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution requirements.

Personal information that is not required to be retained will be deleted or anonymized in accordance with our applicable data retention requirements.

Where certain records must be retained, access to such information will be limited to the extent necessary for the applicable purpose.
